Third, the ten kinds of fearlessness are the practice within the station of non-opposition. By relying on the bodhisattva's resting in goodness, one can perform what is difficult to perform and endure what is difficult to endure regarding the ten difficulties, thus giving rise to a fearless mind: 1. obstacles are difficult to eradicate; 2. the bequeathed Dharma is difficult to protect; 3. evil Māras are difficult to subdue; 4. body and life are difficult to renounce; 5. non-Buddhists are difficult to defeat; 6. the minds of beings are difficult to satisfy; 7. the great assembly is difficult to please; 8. the eight classes of beings are difficult to tame; 9. the lower vehicles are difficult to transcend; 10. superior practices are difficult to cultivate. Being fearless regarding these ten difficulties, how could one fear sentient beings tormenting and harming one?
