In the verses, there are also ten.
The first verse generally shows: the first half reveals that one has already abandoned [evil]; the latter half develops the wholesome roots that can abandon it.
The texts of the second, third, fourth, and fifth can all be known.
In the sixth [verse]: the first line is the nature of karma. Calling it 'vast' means that in a single thought all is created. Calling it 'inexhaustible' means that not having attained the antidote, none can stop it, and because there are many gates. The next line is 'skilful entry': wisdom understands and enters on one's own; revealing and showing causes others to enter. The next line: the gates of entry are manifold.
The seventh and eighth can also be known.
In the ninth [verse]: the first line: seeing the Buddha is the condition. The next two are the two benefits of seeing the Buddha: first, correct wisdom arises, inevitably transcending karmic obstacles inwardly; second, the Buddha is the true guide, so how could one externally chase after conditions of Māra? Since one does not follow Māra, how could one create the karma of Māra? Leaving all ten māras, it therefore says 'all.'
The tenth can also be known.
