The ten dharmas of the fourth, the Yāma Devas:
First: if wholesome roots arise, worries and vexations are naturally eliminated.
Second: by limitless expedient means, universally verifying the realm of the dharmakāya.
Third: compassion crushes afflictions and suffering, hence it is named a 'wheel.'
Fourth: using the wisdom of the three clearances, knowing faculties and imparting teachings.
Fifth, regarding 'dhāraṇī' and so on: retaining all to enter the principle, it is called a 'gate.' Taking wisdom as its essence, it is called 'light.' If taking companions, it combines mindfulness and concentration: mindfulness is clear remembering, hence able to recollect and hold; concentration is one-pointedness of mind, constantly without forgetting; all dharmas such as the four unobstructed knowledges are that which is retained.
Sixth can be known.
Seventh, regarding 'turning the Dharma' and so on: turning the Dharma to show the path of bodhi is the expedient means of maturing sentient beings.
Eighth: the ten eyes see completely, going to harmonize and tame according to suitability.
Ninth, regarding 'transcending' and so on: transcending karmic obstacles, causing them to leave evil causes; not following the works of Māra, relinquishing evil conditions.
Tenth: raining the rain of Dharma equally, enticing them to advance in goodness and causing them to accept and practice it, admonishing them to cut off evil and attain purity of mind. This pertains to the devas; the verses apply to all.
