14.27

疏「第二顯別宗」下，二釋別宗。疏中分二：先總明立意、二開章別釋。今初，又二：先正立諸經各自有宗，故此別明斯經宗也。如《法華》以一乘為宗，《涅槃》以佛性常住等為宗，故云各自有宗。雖互有兼通，就其偏重故，標為別宗。

Regarding the Commentary's passage starting from "Second, revealing the specific tenet": this is the second [major division], explaining the specific tenet. In the Commentary there are two parts: first, generally explaining the intention of establishing it; second, opening the chapters and explaining them separately. In the first part, there are again two: first, correctly establishing that the various sūtras each have their own tenet, hence here the tenet of this sūtra is specifically elucidated. For example, the Saddharmapuṇḍarīka takes the One Vehicle as its tenet, and the Mahāparinirvāṇa takes the permanence of the buddha-nature and so forth as its tenet; hence it says "each has its own tenet." Although they mutually encompass and share [meanings], they are designated as specific tenets on account of their primary emphasis.
