14.42

疏「第四法界因果雙融」下，此門但二：一先標、二別釋。今初。由雙融故俱離，由雙融故混然。離不礙存，故云無礙。能存能離，故云自在。法界雖通事理，今取理實，故法界為性，因果為相。

Regarding the commentary's "Fourth, the dual fusion of the dharmadhātu and cause and result" downward: this section has only two parts: first, identifying beforehand, and second, detailed explanation. Now, as for the first: due to dual fusion, both are transcended; due to dual fusion, they are blended into one. Transcendence does not obstruct preservation; hence it is called unobstructed. Being able both to preserve and to transcend, it is therefore called unfettered. Although the dharmadhātu applies to both phenomena and principle, here it takes principle and reality; thus the dharmadhātu is the nature, and cause and result are the characteristics.
