17.32

疏「由斯六義」下，第四結也。三通釋中，疏「成佛涅槃亦因現故」者，此遮外難。恐有難云：〈離世間品〉自有因果，那得總為出現家因？故為此通。

Regarding the Commentary's statement, 'By virtue of these six points of meaning' and so forth: Fourth is the conclusion. In the third [part], the general explanation, the Commentary states: 'Attaining Buddhahood and nirvāṇa are also manifested as causes'; this wards off an external objection. It is feared that someone might object: 'The "Chapter on Transcending the World" has its own cause and effect; how can it all serve as the cause for the manifestation?' Therefore, this explanation is made.
