On the Commentary's "Next, using two similes to illustrate bodily karma": this is the second section, which also possesses four meanings. The first meaning cites the sūtra text to raise a comparison in order to explain the meaning of containing and subsuming; hence it says: "A single hair-pore can still accommodate the dharmadhātu; the complete whole must surely contain all images." The "Formation of the World" Chapter says: "Within a single hair-pore are inconceivable lands, / Distinctly abiding, equal in number to fine dust motes. / In each and every one there is an Illumination Honoured One, / Proclaiming the marvelous Dharma amidst assemblies." The "Manifestation" Chapter says: "Like a man holding a measuring rod to measure empty space, / With another following along to calculate its number, / The boundaries of empty space might rather be reached, / But a single hair-pore of the Buddha is limitless." Below, the text next says: "Each and every tip of hair can contain and receive all worlds without obstruction." These are all the meaning of a single hair-pore containing the dharmadhātu.
