20.10

疏「此一段文望前是別」下，總顯文意。以總具德中文有三節，第三德行圓備中自有七句，今但是二，故云別也。既言得於諸佛解脫之門，則是四百餘門之總標也。義雖兩向，科且屬前。

From the commentary's statement, "This passage is particular relative to what precedes," downward: it generally displays the purport of the text. In the text on generally possessing virtues, there are three sections; in the third, "virtuous practices being complete," there are themselves seven phrases; here there are only two, hence it says "particular." Since it speaks of attaining the liberation-gates of all Buddhas, this is the general heading for the more than four hundred gates. Although the meaning faces in both directions, structurally it provisionally belongs to what precedes.
