22.50

疏「餘如別章」者，即教義分齊中明。謂《智論》引《長阿含》第二云「有八因緣：一大水動時動、二尊神試力時動、三如來入胎時動、四出胎、五成道、六轉法輪、七分教、八涅槃時。」九依《增一》二十八，更加大神足比丘心得自在，乃至觀地無相，故令地動。十《智論》云「授菩薩記，當於此界作佛之時，地神喜故，所以動也。」

Regarding the Commentary's statement "the rest is as in a separate chapter": this is explained in the *Classification of the Doctrinal Teachings*. That is, the *Upadeśa* cites the second fascicle of the *Dīrgha Āgama* as stating, "There are eight causes and conditions [for an earthquake]: first, it shakes when the great waters shake; second, it shakes when an exalted deity tests their power; third, it shakes when the Tathāgata enters the womb; fourth, when he exits the womb; fifth, when he attains the Way; sixth, when he turns the wheel of the Dharma; seventh, when he expounds the teaching; eighth, at the time of his nirvāṇa." Ninth, according to the twenty-eighth fascicle of the *Ekottara Āgama*, it adds that when a bhikṣu of great supernatural power attains mastery of mind, up to observing that the earth is signless, it causes the earth to shake. Tenth, the *Upadeśa* states, "When conferring a prediction on a bodhisattva that they will become a Buddha in this world, because the earth spirits rejoice, it shakes."
