23.54

疏「離世間品各以十門辯釋」者，即第五十七經，謂十眼十耳等。十眼者，一肉眼、二天眼、三慧、四法、五佛、六智、七光明、八出生死、九無礙、十一切智眼。其十耳十鼻等，廣如彼文辯。然彼是菩薩眼等，而下結皆云「則得佛眼」等，故通因果，可釋佛眼等。

Regarding the commentary's statement, "In the chapter 'Detachment from the World', each is explained through ten approaches": this refers to the fifty-seventh fascicle of the sūtra, which mentions ten eyes, ten ears, and so forth. The ten eyes are: first, the flesh eye; second, the divine eye; third, the wisdom [eye]; fourth, the Dharma [eye]; fifth, the Buddha [eye]; sixth, the cognitive [eye]; seventh, the light [eye]; eighth, the eye that transcends birth-and-death; ninth, the unhindered [eye]; and tenth, the all-knowledge eye. Its ten ears, ten noses, and so forth are elaborated as explained in that text. However, those are the bodhisattva's eyes and so forth, yet at the end of each conclusion it says "then attains the Buddha eye" and so forth; thus they apply to both cause and fruit, and can be used to explain the Buddha eye and so forth.
