23.58

疏「佛智者廣即無量」等，隨事無邊故。「略說有十」者，即如〈出現品〉。第五十一經明意業中，如來心意識俱不可知，但以智無量故知如來心，說有十智十喻是也。

Regarding the commentary's statement, "As for the Buddha's wisdom, extensively it is measureless..." and so forth: this is because it conforms to boundless phenomena. "Briefly stated, there are ten": this is as in the "Manifestation" chapter. In the fifty-first fascicle, explaining mental karma, the Tathāgata's mind, thought, and consciousness are all unknowable, but because wisdom is measureless, one can know the Tathāgata's mind; saying that there are ten wisdoms and ten metaphors refers to this.
