23.67

疏「又眾生一海」下，更以異門釋眾生海。上欲具收十問故，以答因屬眾生海。今以眾生為總，即前答因屬演說海，說諸位故。上來通竟。

In the commentary, from "Furthermore, the single ocean of sentient beings..." downward, the ocean of sentient beings is further explained through a different approach. Previously, wishing to completely encompass the ten questions, answering the cause was assigned to the ocean of sentient beings. Now, taking sentient beings as the collective, the previous answer to the cause is assigned to the ocean of exposition, because it expounds the various stages.
