24.18

疏「忽然現者」，隨難牒釋。準《觀佛三昧海經》第二，明地金剛白毫相光云「此相現時，佛菩提樹，白毫力故，根下自然化生寶華，縱廣正等四十由旬，其華金色金剛為臺。佛眉間光照此華臺，其光直下至金剛際」等。與此大同。

Regarding the commentary's phrase “suddenly appearing”: this is cited and explained in accordance with difficulties. Based on the second fascicle of the Sūtra on the Ocean of Samādhi Contemplating the Buddha, in explaining the light of the white curl of the ground vajra mark, it says: “When this mark appears, beneath the roots of the Buddha's bodhi tree, due to the power of the white curl, a jeweled flower naturally arises by transformation, precisely forty yojanas in length and breadth, its petals of golden color and with a vajra platform. The light between the Buddha's eyebrows illuminates this flower platform, its light descending straight to the vajra limit”, and so forth. This is largely identical to this.
