25.47

疏「此十亦對前十海十智」者，初一為令即具十智，故云為令眾生入佛智慧海故。餘九即十海，一即佛海及神變海、二即世界海、三即三世海、四即法界海、五即轉法輪海、六即眾生根海、七八皆眾生海、九即願海，十海備矣。對海既爾，對智可知，如對海故。

Regarding the commentary's statement, "These ten also correspond to the preceding ten oceans and ten cognitions": the first one is for causing [beings] to instantly possess the ten cognitions; hence it says, "so as to cause sentient beings to enter the ocean of the Buddha's wisdom." The remaining nine are the ten oceans: the first is the ocean of Buddhas and the ocean of spiritual transformations; the second is the ocean of world systems; the third is the ocean of the three periods of time; the fourth is the ocean of the dharmadhātu; the fifth is the ocean of turning the wheel of the Dharma; the sixth is the ocean of sentient beings' faculties; the seventh and eighth are both the ocean of sentient beings; the ninth is the ocean of vows. Thus the ten oceans are complete. Since this is so for their correspondence to the oceans, their correspondence to the cognitions can be understood accordingly, as it parallels their correspondence to the oceans.
