Regarding the commentary’s 'Fearing prolixity, I shall stop for now,' immediately before that in the Mahāprajñāpāramitā-upadeśa it says: 'Having wisdom without much hearing / is not knowing the true characteristic; / like in a dark night, / having eyes but seeing nothing. / Having heard much without wisdom / is also not knowing the true characteristic; / like in a great brightness, / having a lamp but having no eyes. / Having heard much and possessing sharp wisdom, / what one says should be accepted; / lacking hearing and lacking wisdom / is called an ox among humans.' Along with other sūtras, the texts are extremely extensive.
