34.46

疏「前中即隨本異因」等者，如眾生宜以直心土化，菩薩即將直心因取直心土等。即隨諸眾生應以何國起菩薩根而取佛土等，故云得如是佛土，謂染淨等土相不一故。

Regarding the Commentary's statement starting with "In the former, it accords with the original different causes": for example, if sentient beings should be transformed by a land of straightforward mind, the bodhisattva uses the cause of straightforward mind to take a land of straightforward mind, etc. That is, according to which land sentient beings ought to develop bodhisattva roots in, he takes that Buddha land, etc.; hence it says he attains such a Buddha land, meaning that the characteristics of defiled and pure lands are not uniform.
