疏「六答法問」，疏有二釋：前釋但融二境、後釋境智雙融。前中「攬理成事」者，是依理成事門。「理徹事表」者，是真理即事門。但用此二，即顯無別，此影略明耳。亦應云理依事顯，即事能顯理門。事徹理源，即事法即理門。

Regarding the Commentary's "Six: Answering the question on phenomena," the Commentary has two interpretations: the earlier interpretation only harmonises the two objects, while the later interpretation harmonises both object and cognition. In the former, "gathering principle to form phenomena" is the gate of forming phenomena on the basis of principle. "Principle penetrating to the surface of phenomena" is the gate of true principle being identical with phenomena. Using only these two displays that there is no difference; this is explained by complementary implication. It should also be said: "principle being revealed on the basis of phenomena"—namely, the gate of phenomena being able to reveal principle; and "phenomena penetrating to the source of principle"—namely, the gate of phenomenal dharmas being identical with principle.
