36.56

疏「又亦通結止觀」者，即以第四偈結上三偈也。而止已先明，故此疏文但結上觀。疏「第六偈推功」下，此有四意：一明義意相承有本；二「亦謙己」下，揀異凡情；三「令法」下，辨法相承；四「殊途」下，彰法體連合。次八菩薩，例有此四。

But since stopping was already clarified previously, this Commentary text only concludes the preceding contemplation. Regarding the Commentary's statement, "The sixth verse attributes merit..." below: here there are four intentions: first, clarifying that the doctrinal meaning is inherited from a source; second, from "and also humbles oneself" onward, distinguishing it from ordinary sentiments; third, from "causing the Dharma..." onward, distinguishing the lineage of the Dharma; fourth, from "different paths..." onward, revealing the integration of the essence of the Dharma. The next eight bodhisattvas follow this pattern in having these four.
