37.62

疏「任性能知」下，釋方便言。此有二意：一以絕分別心名為方便。如下文云「以無所得而為方便」，初地經中無分別智名大方便。二約善巧事理無礙故，如常所明。

Regarding the Commentary's statement "Freely able to know..." onwards: it explains the word "upāya". This has two meanings. First, taking the mind devoid of discrimination as upāya. As a subsequent passage says, "Taking non-attainment as upāya"; and in the First Bhūmi Sūtra, non-conceptual wisdom is called the great upāya. Second, in terms of skillful means, phenomena and principle are unimpeded, as commonly explained.
