Regarding the commentary's passage beginning with "Third, however, the ten impermanences broadly accord with the third bhūmi," the text of the commentary has two parts: first, a general explanation of characteristics, and second, an opening of headings and specific explanations beginning with "The treatise says." Within this, there are four explanations: (1) relying on the tenor of the treatise to explain impermanence as arising and ceasing; (2) relying on the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra to explain the pairing of permanence and impermanence; (3) drawing tangentially upon the Vimalakīrtinirdeśa to explain the pairing of arising-and-ceasing with non-arising-and-ceasing; and (4) drawing upon the Mahāparinirvāṇa-sūtra and other texts to explain the negation of traces by transcending both permanence and impermanence. In the first part, there are two sections: first, the general clause is explained. "Conditioning factors of life" is the essence of impermanence. "Not abiding" is the meaning of impermanence. The specific explanation of impermanence follows from "However, furthermore."
