54.12

疏「上十已辯他力」者，然論文中無有自力他力之文，以前口加中有自他力二辯才，故以義例之。故此上已有佛正與智，故為他力；具德堪加，故為自力。

Regarding the Commentary's phrase 'The above ten have already distinguished the power of the other': however, in the text of the treatise there is no text mentioning 'one's own power' and 'the power of the other.' Because previously in the verbal empowerment there were two kinds of eloquence of self-power and other-power, it is analogized by principle. Thus, above there was already the Buddha directly bestowing cognition, which is the power of the other; being endowed with virtues and worthy of empowerment is one's own power.
