Regarding the commentary's "Without departing from their original places, and so forth": the present sūtra merely says, "Each extended their right hand." The sūtra text [cited in] the Śāstra says, "At that time, the Buddhas of the ten directions, without departing from their original places, each extended their right hand by their supernatural power." Thus, the commentary provides this explanation. Regarding "namely, the four supernatural powers": the Dazhidulun says, "First is the power of base transformation (ṛddhi), transforming one's own body, making all hear with a great sound, and so on. Second is the power of illusion, transforming external things. Third is the power of Dharma-cognition, cognition and phenomena being unimpeded. Fourth is the power of noble mastery, capable of generating the idea of pleasure within suffering, capable of generating the idea of suffering within that pleasure, and generating the idea of equanimity within both suffering and pleasure. And so on for all [such things]." Here, with respect to their own bodies, they merely extend or contract, unify or multiply; hence, it is base transformation (ṛddhi) and not the other three.
