三「設智為了因」下，遮救。恐彼救云：智為了因，了於涅槃；若為生因，生於菩提。故今答云：性淨菩提亦了因所了，本具智慧光明義故。

Third, from "Even if cognition is taken as a revealing cause..." onward, it refutes a counter-argument. Fearing that the opponent might argue in defense: "Cognition, as a revealing cause, reveals nirvāṇa; if it serves as a generative cause, it generates bodhi." Therefore it now answers: naturally pure bodhi is also revealed by the revealing cause, because it fundamentally possesses the meaning of the light of wisdom.
