疏「初句證行」者，即經向菩提最上道。「謂諸佛證此為因」者，釋經道字，十地證智為佛因故。今經但云「最上」，論經則云「增上勝妙法」，故疏云「最上最勝」。

Regarding the commentary’s "The first phrase is the practice of realization": this refers to the sūtra's "supreme path heading toward bodhi." "Meaning that all buddhas realize this as their cause" explains the word "path" in the sūtra, because the realized cognition of the ten grounds serves as the cause for buddhahood. The present sūtra merely says "supreme," whereas the treatise's sūtra text says "surpassing, superior, and wondrous Dharma"; therefore, the commentary says "most supreme and most superior."
