Regarding the Commentary from "Meaning, although the mind and the facts are true" below: the Commentary explains the treatise above. Because timely speech might be confused—saying that speaking not in accord with the opportune moment and capacity is also called frivolous talk—its characteristics are revealed. In that frivolous talk, although it is good speech, not according with the opportune moment is also called frivolous talk. Here it clarifies that speaking evasively when seeing an opportunity causes harm and vexation to others; therefore it is not the same. Regarding the Commentary's "Using the subtle to illustrate the coarse": the subtle pertains to the mind, which is not regulated for the śrāvaka. Now the bodhisattva has no such mind, and even in dreams does not lie.
