疏「欲顯識生」下，第二出隱顯所以。所以有二：一欲顯識緣名色故。若種現皆五，則識緣名色不成。二「復欲顯」下，顯通種現。通種異小，通現異於《唯識》之義。

Regarding the Commentary's line, 'Wishing to reveal that consciousness generates,' and so forth, second, it brings out the reason for the concealed and the revealed. There are two reasons: First, it wishes to reveal that consciousness conditions name-and-form. If both seeds and actualities were five, then consciousness conditioning name-and-form would not be established. Second, from 'further wishing to reveal' onward, it reveals that it pervades seeds and actualities. Pervading seeds differs from the Hīnayāna; pervading actualities differs from the doctrine of the Vijñaptimātra.
