64.29

疏「四約修分別」者，此約生熟之生。生澁名生，純熟名不生。七地猶有功用，故名生澁；八地無功任運而進，故云純熟。

On the commentary passage "Fourth, discriminating in terms of cultivation": this designates arising in terms of being raw or ripe. Being raw and unpracticed is called arising; being fully ripened is called non-arising. On the seventh bhūmi there is still effort; hence it is called raw and unpracticed. On the eighth bhūmi one advances spontaneously without effort; hence it is called fully ripened.
