疏「一初句即護惡行因事」者，於中先舉惡行、後「今由上句」下明護。上句護下句，無愛見惡行；下句護上句，無棄利樂惡行。

Regarding the Commentary's line, "First, the opening phrase is the matter of the cause for protecting against bad deeds": within this, it first presents bad deeds, and then from "now due to the upper phrase" onward clarifies protection. The upper phrase protects the lower phrase so that there are no bad deeds of craving and views; the lower phrase protects the upper phrase so that there are no bad deeds of abandoning benefit and happiness.
