69.45

疏「下之七勸」下，通妨難，乃有四重。一有妨云：下之七勸，義相不同，何以此中但云與智？故此通云：七不出智。二「前地未淨」下，問云：佛慈平等，何以偏與此地菩薩？通意可知。三「以得此」下，復有問言：何以要得此忍，即與智明？答意可知。四「一與」下，復應問言：九十已得，何不與耶？得已不失，故不重與。

Regarding the commentary's statement, "The seven exhortations below," it resolves objections, which are fourfold. First, an objection asks: The conceptual aspects of the seven exhortations below are dissimilar; why is it only said here that he is given wisdom? Hence this is resolved: None of the seven falls outside of wisdom. Second, regarding "the preceding grounds are not yet pure": A question asks: The Buddha's compassion is impartial; why is it given exclusively to the bodhisattva of this ground? The intent of the resolution is evident. Third, regarding "because having attained this": Again a question asks: Why must this kṣānti be attained before he is given the illumination of wisdom? The intent of the answer is evident. Fourth, regarding "once given": Again a question should ask: Since the ninth and tenth grounds have already attained it, why is it not given again? Having attained it, they do not lose it; hence it is not given again.
