第八習氣稠林。總中有四：一雙標、二引證、三正釋、四通結。今初，即餘習熏習而為二義，標章通故。

Eighth, the dense forest of latent habituations (vāsanā-gahana). In general there are four parts: 1. Jointly presenting the headings; 2. Quoting scriptural evidence; 3. The direct explanation; 4. General conclusion. Now, the first: namely, residual habituation and perfuming constitute two meanings, because presenting the headings covers both.
