疏「雖標習氣」下，引文證成熏習之義，故《唯識》第二云「內種必由熏習生長，親能生果，是因緣故。外種熏習或有或無，為增上緣。所辦成果，必以內種為彼因緣，是共相種所生果故。」

Below the commentary's phrase "Although presenting latent habituations...", it quotes text to substantiate the meaning of perfuming (vāsanā); hence the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi, fascicle two, states: "Internal seeds must grow through perfuming; directly capable of producing fruit, they are the direct causes (hetupratyaya). The perfuming of external seeds may be present or absent; they serve as indirect conditioning factors (adhipatipratyaya). The accomplished fruits brought about must invariably take internal seeds as their direct causes, because they are fruits produced by seeds of shared characteristics."
