疏「十沙(史我切)字」,別譯為「灑」字,《大品》、《放光》等皆為「沙」字。文中,先釋義;後「如海含像」者,會經,像之與水不相礙故。《智論》云「若聞沙字,即知人身六種相,以沙此言六故。」釋曰:以《大品》云「沙字門,諸法六自在,王性清淨故。即內六處為六自在王,心海湛然,不礙見聞覺知,猶如湛海不礙像故。」
Regarding the commentary's "Ten: the syllable ṣa (pronounced shi + wo)": the alternate translation has the syllable ṣa, and the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā, Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā-āloka, etc., all have the syllable ṣa. In the text, it first explains the meaning; afterwards, "like the ocean containing images" reconciles it with the sūtra, because images and water do not obstruct each other. The Dazhidulun says: "Hearing the syllable ṣa, one immediately knows the six kinds of marks of the human body, because here ṣa means six." Explanation: The Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā says, "In the door of the syllable ṣa, the six masteries of all phenomena—their king-nature is pure." That is, the internal six sense-bases are the six sovereign kings; the ocean of mind is serene and clear, not obstructing seeing, hearing, perceiving, and knowing, just as the clear ocean does not obstruct images.
