Regarding the commentary's statement, "Above, then, because phenomena conform to principle," and so forth: the body on the bodhi-seat is a phenomenon; because it conforms to principle, it is pervasive. As for "Here, phenomena contain principle": a single hair is a phenomenon, and there is nothing it does not contain. Because principle has two meanings: first, there is nowhere it does not pervade; second, there is no phenomenon it does not contain—just as empty space possesses the meanings of containing and pervading. Here, phenomena conform to principle, and thus possess the above two meanings, which is the gate of the interpenetration of phenomena and principle within the non-obstruction of phenomena and phenomena.
