Fourth pariṇāmanā. Regarding the commentary statement, "'Reaching' is being able to reach...", the text is divided into two: first explaining the name, and subsequently, from "If definitively stated..." onward, presenting the essence. The former has four parts: 1. Marking that which can reach and that which is reached. 2. From "It means by great vows..." onward, generally showing its characteristics. The text has three clauses and two levels of agent and object: first, the great vows are that which can generate; second, the roots of goodness and so forth are that which is generated; the above two are both able to reach; third, all places are that which is reached. 3. From "*Benye*" onward, citing proof. 4. From "However, according to the text below..." onward, generally clarifying that that which can reach has ten kinds. The first four succeed each other as that which can generate; from the fifth onward, all are universally enabled by the upper four to cause these six kinds to reach; the fifth and sixth are in terms of phenomena reaching; the seventh is in terms of principle; the eighth is the non-obstruction between principle and phenomena; the ninth is the non-obstruction among phenomena and phenomena—the above are all in terms of dharmas; the tenth is in terms of time.
