Regarding the Commentary: from "The Treatise says: manifesting thus..." onward, this is the third part: generally concluding non-similarity to manifest the meaning of fault (surpassing). First, it cites the Treatise; from "Manifesting that with before the grounds..." onward, the Commentary explains. However, below this, the Treatise further says: "In this order, family is not similar, gotra is not similar, path is not similar, essence is not similar, place is not similar, action of birth is not similar, and accomplishment is not similar. Speaking thus of abiding in this ground is called abiding. As the subsequent sūtra says: 'A bodhisattva abiding in such dharmas is called abiding in the Bodhisattva's Joyful Ground, because of corresponding with immobility.'" Exegesis: In this Treatise, concluding each one specifically, all contain the word "not similar"; thus one knows that the ten clauses are not similar to before the grounds. From "Speaking thus..." onward, it explains the concluding text. At first glance, this Treatise seems to take only the fourth section as "abiding in such dharmas," because it gathers the previous three to form this characteristic. Therefore, completely gathering the four, the general covers the specific; all have the distinction of having afflictions versus lacking afflictions.
