The Commentary states: "Those two inversions [and so forth]": inversions have three meanings: first, being deluded about the real and following the false is precisely inversion; second, due to being deluded about the real, calculating pleasure as suffering, and due to following the false, calculating suffering as pleasure; third, not recognizing the real and therefore distancing oneself from it, and not knowing the false and therefore following it. Therefore, the treatise sūtra states: "Without sentience and without cognition, one undergoes various sufferings and afflictions." Although there are three levels, their import is one; therefore, in the commentary, they are brought out alternately before and after.
