Regarding the Commentary's text from "The latter five establish the supporting based on this support" below, within it there are two: first, generally clarifying; later, from "The first three phrases" below, specifically explaining. Now, the first. This consciousness also applies to both schools: if it is the consciousness of arising and ceasing producing defiled and pure other-dependence, which also exists based on mind, that is the Faxiang school; if it is the consciousness of the harmonization of true and false which also produces defilement and purity, that is the Faxing school.
