In the Commentary's [section on] "second, the contemplation of accord through great compassion," there are also two parts: first, directly clarifying it; second, presenting the reason. Now for the first: (1) "contemplating sentient beings as foolish and inverted" means they are foolishly deluded about nature and characteristics, invertedly grasping at self and what belongs to self. (2) "Seeking liberation elsewhere" means that ordinary beings are foolish and inverted; they should constantly seek their liberation within the ālaya-vijñāna and the ādāna-vijñāna, but instead seek liberation elsewhere in self and what belongs to self. The second door of one mind clarifies that it is only the one mind; it can be sought within it, for there are no dharmas outside the mind.
