Regarding the Commentary's statement: "As for the mountain's numinous traces" and so forth, this is the fourth [section], revealing its numinous sanctity. Within this there are two parts: first, briefly indicating various texts; second, personally recounting what was witnessed. In the former, the original biography is extremely extensive, having briefly six gates: first, establishing the name and indicating the transformation; second, the borders and distances in li; third, the stupas and temples on the terrace peaks; fourth, the various monasteries and shrines; fifth, ancient and modern numinous responses; sixth, the merit of hearing the name and paying homage. Now, however, all of these are already briefly present in the text. Here, the first two lines generally indicate the various gates. The Geographical Treatise says: "The mountain is piled in tiers and stands out exquisitely, its roads and paths winding and deep; its numinous peaks and divine streams are not where shallow worldlings abide, but are entirely the retreat of masters dwelling in spiritual dhyāna quiescence, and the peers of those who seek the fathomless and attain the subtle."
