(Fascicle 58 of the sūtra) Commentary: "With the three givings, nine givings," and so forth: the three givings are material giving, Dharma giving, and giving of fearlessness. The nine givings are: first, intrinsic nature; second, all; third, difficult practice; fourth, all doors; fifth, good persons; sixth, all kinds; seventh, fulfilling desires; eighth, bliss in both lives; and ninth, purity. Even up to the six perfections and four means of embracing, all possess these nine; they have already been broadly expounded at the beginning of the Ten Practices. "Therefore, directly explaining in accordance with what is prominent": if material giving is prominent, it is simply termed material, difficult practice, etc., without further broadly citing the specific meanings among the nine or the specific meanings among the three.
