Commentary: "The remaining seven are all giving of all": "all" refers to the three givings, yet it is also one of the nine. However, "all" has two [aspects]: first, the two of internal and external; second, it has its three, namely material, Dharma, and fearlessness. Therefore, in the concluding section below, all ten extend across the three. Now the former three possess their specific characteristics, while the latter seven lack the specific characteristics of the other givings; hence it says they are simply "all." Although the fifth also incorporates the meaning of purity, "not seeking vipāka" is the second among the ten. "The sixth is also difficult practice": because it combines with the giving of all, it says "also." Difficult practice comprises three, and this is the second among the three. "Seventh, internal and external wealth, etc.": internal and external is the first meaning within "all"; wealth, etc., extends across the three within "all." From "eight and nine" downward, it comprehensively interprets the last three. First, it gives the general heading. "This skillfulness in pariṇāmanā" specifically interprets the eighth. Remedying the first fault is, in the sūtra, "distancing oneself from the conditioned"; remedying the second fault is "distancing oneself from the unconditioned." The above interprets the clause. From "practicing the path of non-abiding" downward, it clinches the introductory clause.
