90.29

In the commentary, from “Eighth, ‘The Tathāgata abides’ ” below, this is in the sūtra establishing the inconceivable. In the commentary, it first establishes the name based on the treatise, and then divides the text to explain the meaning. The treatise says: “Because relying on the prior upāya he is able to perform deeds of benefit, it is explained next. That is, the twelve divisions of teaching are what is established; because they are deep and vast, they are inconceivable.” The explanation of the sūtra can be understood from this.
