Sixth, explaining the unobstructed purity and mixture of the oceanic world-system of the Lotus Treasury: Because what the Buddha practices pervades the dharmadhātu and the realm of sentient beings, and since it is obtained through pervasive practice, the circumstantial fruition is likewise pervasive; it is only that those whose karma does not correspond live together with him without seeing it. It is just like spirits, deities, and the various ghost destinies dwelling together in the same place as humans, yet humans cannot see them. As the sūtra says: 'For example, with a human body, two devas constantly follow it; the devas constantly see the human, but the human does not see the devas.' In this sūtra, because the Buddha's practice is complete and pervasive, circumstantial and primary fruitions are likewise pervasive. It is not like the Three Vehicles, which project the Pure Land to other directions, thereby producing the marks of coming, going, self, and other. For those of small minds and inferior faculties, such a teaching net was provisionally established for a time. Ultimately, those who seek the great bodhicitta must return to this non-dual gate and give rise to practices and vows that pervade the dharmadhātu.
