18.18

一釋品名目者，明昇夜摩天宮以說十行之法。此品以功德林等十菩薩眾，各各以當位之行以偈都讚當位之法故，名〈偈讚品〉。

First, as for explaining the chapter title: it clarifies ascending to the Yama Deva Palace to preach the teaching of the ten practices. In this chapter, the assembly of ten bodhisattvas, including Guṇavanna (Merit Forest), each collectively praise the teaching of their respective stage with verses based on the practice of that stage; hence it is called "Chapter on Verses of Praise."
