First, on explaining the title of the chapter: Why is this chapter named "Entering the Dharmadhātu"? It clarifies that for those of faithful aspiration, newly arriving [at realization] from delusion is called "entering." The mind, body, and spheres being inherently without reliance is called "dharma." The one and the many interpenetrating completely, with the obstacles of true and false, right and wrong eradicated, is called "dhātu" (realm). Furthermore, being purely united with wisdom and not the sphere of sentiment and consciousness is called the "dharmadhātu." Furthermore, comprehending that the seeds of ignorance and consciousness are purely the function of wisdom and not subsumed under delusion, being the sphere of wisdom without reliance, is called the "dharmadhātu." Furthermore, because the essence of wisdom has no reliance and is omnipresent everywhere, universally seeing the ultimate and conventional as entirely inconceivable, pores and bodily dust-motes arrayed with manifold images, boundless spheres and layers upon layers of Buddha-lands, wisdom and the ordinary of the same essence, and realms and images mutually entering one another, it is called the "dharmadhātu." Furthermore, one dust-mote universally containing manifold lands, pervading everywhere in space and encompassing every land without destroying the saṃbhoga realm, layers upon layers inexhaustible with reality and principle penetrating through, is called the "dharmadhātu." Furthermore, with a single wondrous voice being heard everywhere throughout the ocean of lands, with a single fine hair measuring equal to the directionless, views of large and small vanishing, object and self being of the same essence, consciousness departing and sentiment extinguished, wisdom penetrating without obstruction—this is called "entering the dharmadhātu." This is a universal name formulated in terms of the sphere of wisdom; one must not rely on what is seen by the fleshly eye and sentient consciousness.
