Ninth, this sūtra has the exemplar of the Dharma, the youth Sudhana, who without leaving a single thought traverses an entire lifetime, and without leaving a single place goes everywhere throughout the ten directions, visiting fifty-three kalyāṇamitras and obtaining the Dharma gates of one hundred and ten cities. The Dharma gates, arts, practices, bodily colors, appearances, and modes of gathering beings of each and every bodhisattva are all coextensive with the dharmadhātu, complete and inexhaustible. Through these vast gates of practice, without leaving a single lifetime he achieves right awakening, completely devoid of limits of beginning, end, before, or after, vast as the dharmadhātu and ultimate as empty space. Thus it is vast and incomparable.
