發心功德品十七（卷同。舉劣顯勝，以初例後。此位所開名之為發，所開之體故總云心，心之勝能故云功德）

Chapter 17: Merits of Generating the Aspiration (Same fascicle. Presenting the inferior to reveal the superior, and taking the beginning to exemplify the end. That which is opened up at this stage is called ‘generation’; the substance of what is opened up is broadly called ‘mind’; the superior capacity of the mind is called ‘merit’).
