From "Śrīmālā said to the Buddha" downward is the third [part], the exposition proper. Within the text there are two [sections]: first, directly clarifying the acceptance of the saddharma; second, from "World-Honoured One, I see that accepting the saddharma has such power" downward, looking up to and deferring to the Buddha, requesting the Buddha to bear witness and know. The first is explained by five approaches: 1. the approach of divergent interpretations; 2. the approach of direct interpretation; 3. the approach of identity and difference; 4. the approach of citing analogous categories; 5. the approach of practice and function. As for the approach of divergent interpretations, someone said: the meaning of accepting the saddharma being vast and great refers to the general heading, which is "immeasurable" explaining the aforementioned "vast." From "attaining all buddha-dharmas" downward explains the aforementioned "great." There are two kinds of "great": attaining all dharmas refers to the greatness of realization, and from "eighty-four [thousand]" downward refers to the greatness of teaching—thus they are the two paths of realization and teaching.
