1.38

經曰「光明普照」至「六種振動」者，述云：第二、身語廣利。有四：一、伏魔令離邪；二、破邪以弘正；三、受供以生福；四、說法令修道。初又有二：此初、總標伏魔也。

The sūtra says: from "light universally illuminates" up to "vibrated in six ways." The commentary states: Second, the extensive benefits of body and speech. There are four: first, subduing Māra and causing [beings] to leave behind the heterodox; second, crushing the heterodox to propagate the orthodox; third, receiving offerings to generate merit; fourth, expounding the Dharma to cause [beings] to cultivate the Path. The first again has two parts; this initial part is the general statement of subduing Māra.
