2.2

經曰「顯現道意無量功德」者，述云：第二、申入道之教。有二：此初、修因之教也。顯菩薩發菩提心之意，令得發心。難無量德，使修行故。

The sūtra says: "Manifesting the intention toward the Path and immeasurable merit." The commentary states: Second, presenting the teaching of entering the Path. There are two parts: this initial part is the teaching on cultivating causes. It manifests the intention of bodhisattvas generating the bodhicitta to cause [beings] to generate the resolve, expounding immeasurable merits so that they cultivate practice.
